Courses
All PADI courses from PADI Scuba Diver through Divemaster are offered at Hedonism Resorts. They are a P.A.D.I. International Resort Association member (PIRA). All Instructors and Divemasters are certified through PADI. Along with the referral program mentioned above, the full open water certification course is popular and runs approximately $ 300. If you plan to take the complete open water course while at the resort, the PADI Crew Pac (PADI Open Water Manual, log book, dive table, etc), offered both in print, CD Rom, and video, can be purchased from DiveHedo.com. Support material, such as manuals and videos, for any other PADI courses you might wish to take while at Hedonism Resorts, can also be purchased from us. If you purchase these items before your trip and prepare yourself for the course, you can save a lot of valuable Hedonism Resort vacation time.
Another popular option is to take the class & pool portion of the open water certification course, with your local dive store, prior to your vacation. Then, while on vacation, do the open water dives with the instructors at the resort. This would also free up your vacation time to do the things Hedonism Resorts are famous for and you can become a certified diver at the same time. Your local affiliated dive center can be found on the dive center locator link to the left. These referral certification dives are not included in the all-inclusive package and they run approximately $ 200 complete.

Dive Sites
Hedonism III the luxury of a dozen sites all within a 2 to 5 minute boat ride from the dockside. Our deep sites usually offer us a dramatic topography of sloping or vertical walls. The top of these walls range from 30 to 60 feet deep, depending on the site, and drop off to 150 feet and deeper. Reef life ranging from barracuda, spotted eagle rays, southern stingrays, turtles and many other colorful forms of fish life can be seen on these and other shallow sites. A multitude of sponge life in varying shapes, sizes and colors are everywhere, and huge soft corals including gorgonian fans abound.
One of our two most popular sites is called the Canyon. Aptly named due to the dramatic effect of two vertical walls facing off to form a canyon of about 50 feet wide with the top starting at 30 feet and bottoming out at the deepest part at 150 feet. A large school of Bermuda Chub have lived here for years. Turtles frequent this site also. The second of our most popular sites is our plane and shipwreck sites. The ship is a 150-foot day cruiser sunk in a 50-foot site over 9 years ago. It is often home to nurse sharks and large green morays. Very close by, at 70 feet, lie three planes, which have acquired a host of fish life and invertebrates since they were sunk over two and a half years ago. Other sites named after their special features are Ricky's Island/Reef, Three Stone Ledge and Spanish Anchor.
Our shallow sites, which can be appreciated by both Novice and Certified Divers, range from 20 feet to 40 feet depending on the site. Gilbert Reef, named after the hurricane that created it in 1988, displays caverns that lie under a shallow reef that can also be viewed by snorkelers. Schools of sweepers and many varieties of colorful fish life abound in and around these caverns. On the Nursery, named after it's reputation as a breeding ground for many species of colorful fish, you can also find a riot of sponges and soft corals. There is an adjoining sand bed, which lies at 30 feet with the reef rising gently to 20 and 25 feet. Following where reef meets sand bed you can drift off to another site called Silver Spray, which has a similar charm to the Nursery. Public Beach flat is a forest of soft corals, some standing as tall as 10 feet from the reef bed. Turtles have been known to feed in this area and can often be seen when visiting this site. Novices can experience some of the deeper sites, like the Canyon, as the top of the wall is 30 feet. This is usually quite a thrill for the Novice diver.

Diving Au-Naturel
Nude scuba diving is allowed but is not seen very often due to the logistics of diving. It simply is to cold for many and the potential of getting scraped by the coral is greater.

Dive Boat
The dive boat is a modified cigarette-style speedboat with a flying bridge. Tanks sit in restraints toward the bow. Twin 250hp outboard engines power the dive boat. The longest boat ride is about 20 to 25 minutes; most are less than 10 to 15 minutes.
